An industry-wide collaboration
The Supply Chain Sustainability School is led by a collaboration of industry Partners, including main contractors, homebuilders, infrastructure clients and trade contractors, who fund and steer the direction of the learning for the rest of the built environment sector. The School is a legally binding partnership but not a legal entity and Partners participate in the development and management of the School through Leadership Groups.
Our Partners
The School Structure
Our ConstitutionThe School is governed by a Board of elected Partner representatives with Shaun McCarthy OBE as the independent chair. The Board is responsible for the fiscal governance and strategic direction of the School.
The Board is supported by a variety of Partner-led Leadership Groups, focusing on specific sectors, topics or categories of spend, collaborating to develop annual business plans which direct the focus of the learning in that area.
An Operations Group of Partner representatives is also convened to look at the intricate details of the running of the School to ensure continuous improvement on areas such as website development, marketing and membership.
Groups meet 4 times per financial year to discuss key issues in that area, where the learning should focus and to ensure that the School is delivering the agreed business plan. Business plans are agreed by each group, the Board and then all Partners at an Annual General Meeting. It is the responsibility of each Group and the Delivery Partner, Action Sustainability, to ensure business plans and targets are achieved.
Our Delivery Partner
Action Sustainability are the Delivery Partner of the School; leading the day-to-day running of the learning platform, developing and achieving business plans annually and delivering the programme of training and learning to members.
