Supporting the sector to identify, prevent, mitigate and remediate modern slavery risks and labour exploitation
Due to significant labour demand, a severe skills shortage, complex supply chains and the prevalence of indirect and self-employment, the built environment is a high-risk sector for modern slavery and wider exploitation.Â
The Built Environment Against Slavery Group brings together senior procurement, supply chain and sustainability leads from major UK housebuilders, infrastructure clients, FM service providers, main contractors, suppliers and sub-contractors. It looks at opportunities to drive a common approach to combatting modern slavery and labour exploitation, through the upskilling of their own workforce and the wider supply chain. The group is the largest anti-slavery collaboration in the UK built environment.Â
